Performance pillar.
A pre-competitive program for dancers with previous experience who are ready for greater commitment, shared goals, and the excitement of growing as a team
About the program
Bridging technique and team.
Our Performance Team is designed for dancers approximately 8–12 years of age who are looking to take the next step beyond our CORE recreational programs, while not yet ready for the commitment of our Company program.
As our pre-competitive pathway, Performance Team provides dancers with the opportunity to deepen their technical training, develop confidence on stage, and experience the excitement of performing as part of a dedicated team. We place a strong emphasis on ballet and jazz as the foundation for well-rounded dance education, while introducing dancers to the commitment and expectations of competitive dance.
This is a group-focused program where dancers learn the value of teamwork, musicality, stage presence, and supporting one another. The focus is on group choreography rather than solos or duos, creating an environment where every dancer contributes to the success of the team.
Performance Team is selected during the summer and trains from September through June. Dancers attend 3–4 regional competitions throughout the season, along with studio performances and events.
As this is a committed program, families are asked to prioritize dance throughout the season. Regular attendance, consistent training, and a positive team mindset are essential to helping each dancer grow and allowing the team to succeed together.
Performance Team offers an encouraging bridge between Core dance and our Company program, giving dancers the opportunity to build strong technical skills, lasting friendships, and a genuine love for the performance experience.
